Project Completed!

Thanks to your generosity, Svetlana, Valeriy and their 5 foster children have a much-needed refrigerator and bunk bed. THANK YOU!

The Project: Svetlana and Valeriy and their 5 foster children are in dire need of a new refrigerator and a bunk bed with mattresses.

About the Parents: Svetlana and Valeriy are teachers and have worked with children for most of their lives. They absolutely LOVE kids. They have very kind and calm hearts—their home always conveys a safe and peaceful atmosphere. Because they know the children they care for have wounded hearts and have come from difficult circumstances, they gently treat them with unconditional love, acceptance and care. Currently, the Alpolkovy’s are fostering children between the ages of 8 and 13, so there is always a lot of energy, fun and laughter in the house. The family loves spending time together and going out for special occasions.

About the Children: 5 foster children: Twelve-year-old Vlad is considered the comedian of the family. He loves to sing and is very artistic. When you see how happy he is today, you’ll be shocked to hear that he came from an abusive background. His mother, father and grandmother were all alcoholics and would often fight and have loud parties in the house. Locked in his room for days by his abusive mother, he experienced emotional and physical trauma and would often beg for food from neighbors in their apartment. Nutritional deficits led to some dental problems that Vlad is now, thankfully, receiving treatments for.

Vlad is just one of the many children that has benefited from the godly hearts of Svetlana and Valeriy Alpolkovy. Wonderfully, all of the children from this family are in the process of adoption and are now better prepared for life in a permanent family.

The Alpolkovy’s will take on new foster children as their current ones leave to join forever families. Each new child will have this safe environment to discover their unique gifts and heal from their wounds. As a friend who works with Svetlana and Valeriy has said, “we do [everything] possible to bring a happy ending to each little life which we have [the] privilege to touch. All we do we do with God and because of God, He is our driving force and Healer which brings light to darkness and restore from broken to whole.”
