Many adopted children often struggle with the transition into their new adoptive families due to the emotional, physical and spiritual traumas they suffered pre-adoption. These summer camps are designed to be fun, but also to assist recently adopted children in the transition into their adoptive families through a variety of activities and counseling sessions. The positive effects of such opportunities are  immeasurable, but the impacts are often obvious to their families. In addition, adoptive parents are given a short break from dealing with some of the issues their children are facing, giving them renewed energy and enthusiasm to continue working with their children in positive and healing ways when they return from camp.
