Project Description:

Recently I received the photo below of a nine-year old boy named John from Uganda. His photo resonates with the description we received that he is a joy filled child, a child who laughs and who makes others laugh easily. I can't help but smile when I look at it.

Yet John has suffered immensely in his short life --- he has lost both of his biological parents to AIDS and he has been battling HIV since birth. You can help him today by ensuring he can continue to receive his HIV medicine and treatments.

When John was found at the age of two in a remote village of Uganda, he suffered from scurvy, lice, jiggers, and worms on top of the deadly HIV virus. The Muzungus, a loving family in Kampala, adopted John and have been caring for him ever since. Unfortunately, the antiretroviral treatment John needs to take daily for HIV is extremely expensive and his family is struggling desperately to find the funds to continue purchasing the medicine. Without treatments, death from AIDS or a related autoimmune deficiency disease is almost a guarantee for John.
