This Easter, you can help Michael and his father be reunited permanently!

UPDATE: Thanks to you, Michael has been reunited with his father! Please read more in our April Update Newsletter.

As we have stepped into the New Year and now anticipate the promise of rebirth at Easter, thoughts of clean slates, new goals and a second chance are in the air. We want to share a story with you about a father who desperately desires to start over with his young son, Michael, and how you can be a part of their story.

This Easter, you can help Michael and his father be reunited permanently!Would you consider making a gift that will allow Michael to be united with his forever family?

Michael has been living in an orphanage since birth. In 2013, Michael’s mother passed away soon after he was born. Overwhelmed by grief, poverty and the task of caring for his young son alone, Michael’s father put him in the care of the state. Michael was placed in an orphanage in the rural state of Jharkhand, India.

Despite receiving the best care possible in a Christian orphanage run by a very kind family, Michael has always been missing out on the security and stability of a permanent family. Multiple studies have proven over and over how critical loving, permanent parental relationships are to the emotional, social, mental and physical health of children.

Michael needs the attention and care of a mother and father who are committed to him for the rest of his life. Fortunately, he is in an orphanage in which the caretakers recognize this need for all of the children in their care. They work tirelessly to place them into adoptive families or reunite them with rehabilitated biological families.

Understanding the situation that Michael came from, the director of the orphanage prayed that it would be possible to reunite Michael with his father some day.

This Easter, you can help Michael and his father be reunited permanently!Over the course of two years, the director reached out to Michael’s father in friendship, shared his faith in Christ with him and provided him with opportunities for much needed counseling. Michael’s father has now re-married, started his life over as a Christian and desires more than anything to bring his little boy home again. He dreams of teaching him about life and God’s love for him, playing games with him and making special memories—things that seemed impossible two years ago in the midst of his anguish over losing his wife, Michael’s mother.

Today, Michael has the chance to experience the lifelong blessing of a nurturing mother and father. However, because Michael was surrendered to the state after his biological mother’s death, there’s a lengthy legal process and numerous fees required for Michael to come home.

Your gift will go directly to taking care of the fees for Michael to be legally adopted back into his family’s loving care.

Thank you for your concern and compassion for children like Michael. As we reflect on the sacrifice our heavenly father made for us, may we rejoice in His gift of a second chance!
