Repairs to the Kravchuk family home

Repairs to the Kravchuk family home

When Peter and Leah Kravchuk first got married, they didn't have plans to adopt dozens of children. They lived in a tiny apartment with their one biological daughter and were content. However, God began to tug their hearts as they saw the plight of the many street children in their city. Eventually they opened a soup kitchen for street children, and were feeding many street children every day. They realized however, that feeding a street child met a temporary need, but didn't solve the real problems for that child. They began to pray about adopting and fostering. Each year, God has added more children to their family - Today they have 20 children living in their home!

The Kravchuks moved out of the city and to a farm in the country.  At their farm, they are able to teach their children life skills which will enable them to get a job once they are grown. Many of the first children the Kravchuk's adopted have already grown and are now living independently-- whether studying at college, or married, or working a job.

The Kravchuk family is famous across Russia-- they were honored at the National Prayer Breakfast a few years ago with a plaque which named Peter and Leah "Hero Parents". Peter and Leah have been able to use their position to travel around Russia and encourage many families to adopt and foster.

Peter and Leah Kravchuk are not wealthy. Peter is a farmer, and Leah a stay at home mom for all of their children. Every week, they trust God to meet their many needs-- to provide food when they don't have money to purchase it, to provide winter clothes for their children, etc.

The Kravchuk family is in urgent need of repairs to their house. Their bathroom and toilet needs plumbing repairs as well as repairs to the heater and insulation. Imagine living in a house with 20 other people and no indoor plumbing for your basic hygiene needs. Now imagine having to trek through the snow and ice to use an outhouse in sub-zero temperatures during the winter months! With your help, the Kravchuk’s will be able to provide a warm, safe and loving home to their adopted children, allowing them to realize the dreams they never dared to imagine until they became part of a family.
